HSMP

The Highly Skilled Migrant Programme also known as HSMP is now closed to new applicants.
However you have an opportunity to apply under Tier 2 if you have a job offer arranged in the UK.
If you were granted the HSMP visa and your permission to stay will soon expire, you are eligible to apply for Tier 1 General of the points-based system if you wish to stay in the UK. Please contact one of our representative at Imperial visas today for further advise.

HSMP Forum judicial review

The 8 April 2008 judgment in the judicial review made some changes to the HSMP.

The Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) was suspended on the 7 November 2006. If you joined the HSMP programme in place from 5 December 2006, you will not be covered the HSMP Forum judicial review.

Migrants in the UK under the HSMP Forum judicial review may apply for extension under Tier 1 General for stay will be those that were in place before 7 November 2006. For further advise please start your free assessment with one of our representative.

HSMP Forum judicial review (settlement in the United Kingdom)

You will be covered by the HSMP judicial review judgment if you received a Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) approval letter from the UK Border Agency on the basis of an application made before 7 November 2006 and that you obtained entry clearance or further leave to remain on the basis of the UKBA letter.

You received the letter on the basis that the letter was received by you before 3 April 2006 and you applied further leave to remain or entry clearance ; or You received a approval letter on the basis of an application submitted between 3 Apr 2006 and 7 Nov 2006, and you obtained entry clearance or leave to remain on the basis of that letter.

You will be eligible for settlement after 4 years if you applied to the HSMP before 3 April 2006 and received an HSMP approval letter and came to or applied for FLtR stayed in the United Kingdom on the basis of that letter and you don’t need the Knowledge of language and life in the UK test.

If you had applied to the HSMP between 3 Apr 2006 and 7 Nov 2006, and you had come to stay and applied for further leave to remain with an approval letter
However you will still have to complete a period of five years’ continuous residence in the UK before you can apply to settle in the United Kingdom. You do not need to meet the ‘Knowledge of language and life in the UK’ requirement for settlement.
